Covid 19 - Appointment Information
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer offering prebookable routine GP appointments and instead we are offering a telephone triage system - please be aware that the GP may request you come into the surgery as necessary.
We have a limited amount of daily routine calls. These are booked on a first come, first served basis between 08:30am - 09:30am. Our team are trained to ask various questions, please understand that the GP's have directed our staff to ask these questions and they need the information to help you. A team member will contact you during the day. This telephone call may be from a withheld number so please answer any withheld numbers and have access to your phone at all times.
TREATMENT ROOM APPOINTMENTS
Please contact the reception to arrange a face to face appointment or a telephone consultation with our Treatment Room Nurse.
Falls Road Surgery operate a ZERO TOLERANCE abuse policy. Our staff are working exeptionally hard during this difficult period. Abuse of any kind to our staff will not be tolerated by the practice.
MDT APPOINTMENTS (Physiotherapist, Social Worker and Mental Health Practitioner)
Please contact the reception to arrange a face to face appointment or a telephone consultation with our expert Multi-Disciplinary Team. You can book an appointment with them directly without seeing your GP.
Urgent Appointments
If you feel your problem is urgent, and you need to be seen on the same day, please let the receptionist know when you call. The receptionist will ask you some brief details about the complaint as sometimes the doctor may decide your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice. Emergency appointments are dealt with each morning, so please phone before 09:30am, if possible.
Telephone Advice
If you wish to speak to the doctor or nurse, the receptionist will take your telephone number and a brief description of the problem. The doctor will then phone you back at their earliest convenience. GP telephone requests can now only be made between 8:30am and 9:30am. Phone calls after 11am are reserved for medical emergencies.
Home Visits
Home visits are reserved only for the very elderly, frail and housebound patients, and are based on clinical need at the discretion of the doctor.
Please do not ask the doctor to make a home visit if you are well enough to come to the surgery.
The receptionist will ask a few details to allow the doctor to assess the urgency of your call. Only the doctor can judge if a home visit is necessary.
Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to make a home visit.
Cancel an Appointment
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you may be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters may be removed from the list.
Text Reminder Service
We are operating a texting service which allows you to receive texts from the surgery. This service will include vaccine invites as well as reminders for various clinics and appointments.
To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
